The DEREVO System

The DEREVO system sees itself as work with body, energy and imagination. In the sense of Physical Theatre, it is a form of theatre that essentially does not use spoken language. On stage it focusses the audio-visual experience, so that body and environment are directly connected with each other and interact associatively with each other. The training includes body training, psycho-physics as well as working with the imagination, combined with work on rhythm, music and basics of different dance styles. Additionally it paysattention to the information that flows into the person every day. Words, thoughts, the human voice, texts, literary and poetic creation are explored from their own perspective.

Modules

The one-week intensive course is structured in modules. It is based on physical exercises, which are the daily introduction to the training program. The intention is to focus attention on the individual aspects of theatre work and at the same time to relate them to each other. The systematic combination of the modules should also enable the participants to work out their own ideas and develop them during the workshop. At the end of the course there will be a presentation for the Dresden audience.

Anton Adasinkjy – physical and body training, perception, rhythm

Elena Yarovaya – Courses in professional dreaming

Andrej Gladkich – video technologies in performing arts

Aims

The main aim of the workshop is to give actors and dancers an insight into the work with the DEREVO system. Furthermore, the workshop aims to pass on concrete approaches and strategies for one’s own creative work as well as to recognize and develop personal potentials.
There is also a long-term goal for the School on Wheels itself. Perspectively, we would like to develop a systematic teaching format with a structured curriculum that goes beyond the offer of individual workshops and systematizes all teaching approaches. This workshop will therefore test the possibilities of implementing this idea in Dresden.

Support of young talents in the field of theatre work

Supporting creative and professional dialogue
between young cultural and theatrical practitioners

Interdisciplinary curriculum

Linking theory & practice in training
